“…And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
Have you ever found yourself partnering with God?
I remember the days when Margaret and I pioneered a Christian school in North Queensland. Together, we firmly believed God was asking this of us, though we were only very new to faith. We both left well-paying government teaching positions behind to say ‘yes’ to God. Heaven was inviting us to partner in something of divine significance, and we accepted that invitation without reservation.
We see a similar invitation in the book of Esther.
Her people, the Jews, had been sentenced to annihilation. Through her uncle, Mordecai, God gave Esther an opportunity to partner with Him to deliver a nation.
The time was now.
The call went out.
And Esther answered with conviction.
The Bible repeatedly tells us that we are alive in this generation for such a time as this. God extends an invitation to each of us, to serve and follow Him with unreserved faith and trust, in times that are uncertain and unchartered.
Will you answer the call?
Like Esther, we may not know what that will look like for us. But as people who have a genuine faith in Christ, our confidence is not in the outcome. Our complete trust is in our Father, as He outworks His eternal purposes; all for His glory, for such a time as this.
