Day 4 – I Do Means I Do

Ephesians 4:3 (NLT) [bible-link v=”Ephesians+4%3A3&version=NLT” c=”light”]

Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit binding yourselves together with peace.

Margaret and I have been married for over four decades now. Over those years, we have experienced many ups and downs. One thing that has remained as a constant is the commitment from both of us to invest, value and nurture the relationship we have first with Christ, then with each other.

Any relationship of substance and significance requires a commitment. Belonging to a community is no different.

In our fast-paced, fast food, 5G society, commitment seems to be undervalued and underrated. When many are quick to discover ‘the next best thing’ and discard what was yesterday’s thing, I believe we need to adamantly preserve the timeless principle of commitment.

Commitment takes effort and time. Commitment can often appear to be insignificant, but I’ve discovered that anything that has stood the test of time is often made up of seemingly insignificant decisions and moments.

Let me encourage you today to commit to respectful relationships within your family, your church community and all those in your world.
