Life is full of risks. But do all risks have to be risky? There have been many times in my life where I have faced decisions which held significant risk, but I knew I could proceed with absolute confidence, free from fear.
How?
I believe that when faith is exercised with patience and wisdom, it takes the risk out of risky.
When God speaks a ‘rhema’ word (living word) to our hearts, faith immediately comes and we are empowered with undeniable certainty about the way forward.
Paul says in his letter to the church in Rome:
Romans 10:17 (NKJV) [bible-link v=”Romans+10%3A17&version=NKJV” c=”light”]
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
I’ve found that usually, when you hear a rhema word from God, you know exactly where you were. You can recall the exact place, because it was there that God spoke to you and gave you His answer.
God not only tells us how to act, but when to act. In His perfect timing, He asks us to act, putting faith into action.
James 1:22 (NKJV) [bible-link v=”James+1%3A22&version=NKJV” c=”light”]
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Sometimes stepping out in faith can feel risky because there are so many unknowns.
However, when those acts of faith are birthed from His rhema word, grown from patience and guided by wisdom, it takes the risk out of risky.
